A New You Employment Readiness Program
Program Purpose:
Participants overcome fear of computers.
Participants explore/determine interest in further study of computer technology.
Address the 'digital divide'.
Participants come to realize that ALL jobs require use of some type of technology.
Participants prepare for entry level administrative support jobs.
Participants build a strong foundation of employment skills.
Participants explore/determine interest in further study of office administration.
Participants acquire an understanding of self that aids in any type of employment.
Participants acquire skills necessary to assist in the administration of office procedures.

Hours:
Each 7-week segment meets Tuesday & Thursday, 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Entrance Requirements:
Ability to read and write independently enough to complete a job application
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to understand/read English
Interest
Desire to get a job after completing training
Minimum typing speeds of 25 wpm, and know proper fingering on the keyboard
Reading and Language Arts at 10th grade
Math skills at 8th grade
Exceptions to these requirements considered on an individual basis
