Founder Gladys Pearson, who at the age of 13 had a daughter and her daughter was put up for adoption by her parents, knows personally the challenges a young girl faces, especially when there is no one to turn to.
Pearson had a vision and founded Making It to The Finish Line in 2001. Today her vision has provided young women an opportunity
to be the authors of their own futures.
Pearson connects young ladies with the tools and resources they typically don’t receive through formal education such as financial literacy and etiquette training just to name a few.
Regardless of a young ladies’ academic achievements and family financial status; Pearson believes these young ladies are our future and deserve the opportunities. Pearson and MITTFL supports diversity amongst its female participants. Quite naturally we get African-Americans,
but we don’t turn anyone away.
